Brief History Of Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School Boys

Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys) is a maintained institution of Aligarh Muslim University and is affiliated with the Aligarh Muslim University Board of Secondary and Senior Secondary Education in Aligarh. Established in 1987 under Section 12 of the AMU Act, 1920, the school is situated within 15 miles from the University Mosque. It is located on a lush green campus of approximately 28 acres within the university premises.
The school has been expanding continuously in its scope and range of activities. Prior to the establishment of the school, the classes were run by the respective faculties of the university. It has truly lived up to its promise and commitment of achieving the highest level of excellence in academics, thanks to the concerned efforts of our Honorable Vice Chancellor, Director of Schools Education, Principal, teachers, and students.
Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School can boast of achievers in various fields including academics, public services, cinema, sports, and NCC. Since 2014, the school has continuously produced toppers in the Class XII Board Examinations. Our students have made us proud by joining prestigious institutions such as IIT, MBBS, JE, Management, and the Armed Forces.
Every year, approximately 800 students are enrolled in Class XI through a national-level entrance test. Subsequently, the same number of students are promoted to Class XII, making the total strength of the school about 1600. Hostel facilities are provided by the university at the Allama Iqbal Boarding House of the Senior Secondary School for outstation students admitted through the entrance test. The boarding house is located within the school campus.
